Obituary of Timothy Patrick Kelly

Timothy (Tim) Patrick Kelly of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the age of 61 years. Tim was born and educated in Winnipeg, MB. He joined Air Cadets and received outstanding cadet with the squadron. He also served with the Royal Canadian Air Force to become a Pilot and later with Search and Rescue as a Flying Officer. Leaving the military service he became an Air Traffic Controller and later returned to school, becoming a Professional Chef. Tim worked in the northern part of Alberta in logging camps and then opened and operated his restaurant in Calgary. In his later years, he started Kelly Survival Kits Company (KSK), designing kits for aircraft survival equipment. Tim joined the Calgary Civilian Air Search and Rescue, being their Chief Navigator and then Calgary Ground Search and Rescue Association, becoming their Training Officer. He later joined the Foothills Search and Rescue Society, became Vice President, and provided good management as the Search Manager. He also volunteered with many groups in the Calgary area and provided many meals for friends’ weddings, receptions and community soccer teams. Tim will be missed by his dear friends and cousins in Calgary, Cardston, AB and Hamilton, ON. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Marion. At Tim’s request, no service will be held. His cremated remains will be scattered within the trails of Kananaskis Country, the area he dearly loved. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
