Obituary of Helen Porteous
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Helen Porteous of Calgary, on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the age of 85 years.
Helen was born on January 7, 1921 in Winnipeg, MB to her loving parents Waleria and Walter Kokindowicz. Helen loved to travel and enjoyed visiting many countries.
Helen’s memory will be forever cherished by her children, Chuck (Joyce) and Muriel (Marcel); and her grandchildren, Garrett, Eliot (Maryem), Lee Ann and Rayna. She is also survived by her brother Ted Koke of Victoria, as well as many nieces and nephews. Helen was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be remembered for her generous hospitality, good sense of humour and her willingness to help others.
A Celebration of Helen’s Life will be held at the Eau Claire Senior’s Residence (301 – 7th Street S.W.) on Monday, August 14, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
