Obituary of John Colville

It is with immeasurable sadness that our family announces the passing of John Colville, beloved husband of Patricia Colville, of Calgary, Sunday, August 6, 2006 at the age of 61 years. John fought a courageous battle with brain cancer, during which time he maintained his great sense of humour. He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife Pat; daughter Kari; son Kevin (Tracy); and four grandchildren, Kevin, Kaitlin, John Michael and Lukas. He will also be greatly missed by his most loyal best friend, Elvis. John leaves his stepmother Rose (George), brothers Hugh (Karen), Dave (Sylvia) and Dennis (Geri) and sister Susan, as well as many nieces and nephews. John received an award for 40 years of service in the health care field, his last years being at the Peter Lougheed Emergency Department. He will be deeply missed by his many co-workers who enjoyed his humorous stories, laughter and fun. Pat and family would like to thank the many friends, too numerous to mention, for their continued support throughout John’s ordeal; he will be forever remembered by all. We especially want to thank the staff and volunteers of Agape Hospice who cared for John during his illness with great compassion.
