Obituary of June Nixon
June Nixon died on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the Rockyview Hospital, in a difficult passage, after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 88 years.
June’s Life was characterized by her gallant response to the many illnesses that attacked her and by her devoted care of her husband (Dr. William A. Nixon, 1919-1992) during his long struggle with multiple sclerosis. Throughout these challenges, she was unfailingly positive, caring and kind. Everyone who knew June, loved her. We will greatly miss her strong and steadfast spirit.
June is survived by her daughter Brenda; a sister, Winnifred Griffith and sister-in-law Doris Evans as well as many nieces and nephews and their children.
In accordance with June’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. . We extend our profound gratitude to the residents and staff at the Lodge at Valley Ridge, where June lived for the past four years. Theirs is a truly remarkable community.
