Obituary of Nicholas Farkas

Nicholas John Farkas, beloved husband of Lorraine Farkas, of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the age of 72 years. Nick was born on March 11, 1934 in Winnipeg, MB. He married Lorraine on May 18, 1956 and they resided in Winnipeg and California before moving to Dauphin, MB where they farmed for twenty-five years. Nick and Lorraine retired in 1994 and moved to Calgary where he remained very active in his community serving as marshall/starter for the Country Hills Golf and Country Club. Besides Lorraine, his loving wife of fifty years, Nick is remembered by his daughter Lori Farkas and her daughters Chelsea McLean and Caleigh Farkas of Saskatoon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Susan Farkas and their children, Britni, Brenlea and Brock Farkas of Calgary and Brett and Dayle Farkas and their son Garett of Calgary. Nick is also survived by his sister Agnes Johnson of Minneapolis, US. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. David Drake, Presiding.
