Obituary of Fern Kersey

Fern Kersey (nee Kennedy), of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Fern was born on December 28, 1927 in Blackie, AB. She received her RN Degree in Ponoka, AB and worked at the Calgary General Hospital for many years prior to going to the Foothills Hospital where she worked in the Psychiatric ward until retiring in 1992. Fern enjoyed the outdoors, especially nurturing her flowers and garden. She also had a passion for animals and loved being with her children and grandchildren. Fern was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. Fern will be sadly missed by her children, Brian (Renate) Kersey of Fraser Lake, BC, Barbara Sirr and Christopher Kersey, both of Calgary and grandchildren, Steven, Sherri, Jason, Becky, Daina, Tressa, Brandon, Jordon and Shaylyn. She is also survived by her brother Donald Kennedy of Calgary and her sister Marjorie (Garth) Saunders of West Bank, BC as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Fern was predeceased by her husband Ralph, son Gary, her parents, three sisters and two brothers. A Private Family Graveside Service to follow at a later date..
