Obituary of Clarence Beierback
Clarence Beierback beloved husband of Bea, of Cochrane passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at the age of 84 years.
Clarence was born on July 29, 1922 in Lamont, AB. At an early age, he moved with his parents to Cypress Hills, AB, twenty miles south of Walsh. There he farmed with his parents until they retired and moved to Medicine Hat, AB. Clarence worked as a farmhand a few times when the wages were $1.00 for a ten-hour day. In 1951, Clarence married Bea Schneider of Irvine, AB. In 1952, Clarence and Bea bought a farm a few miles south of Dog Pound, AB. Upon moving to Dog Pound, they shipped their farm machinery and two train carloads of cattle via CPR to the stockyards in Dog Pound, which were torn down a few years later. Clarence and Bea raised three sons, Cecil, Tom and Rene. They moved to Cochrane, AB in 1987 and Clarence continued to farm there until his death. Clarence was an active Legion member for thirty-one years.
Besides his loving wife Bea, Clarence is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law Cecil and Bev, Tom and Barb, and Rene; two grandsons Bowen and Joseph, which he referred to as “my little boys”; as well as a daughter-in-law Gemma. He was predeceased by his parents; and three sisters, Gladys, Ruth and Myrtle.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Cochrane Funeral Home (369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB) on Friday, August 4, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Cochrane Cemetery.
