Obituary of Ellen Mary Chadderton

Ellen Chadderton, beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Chadderton, of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at George Boyack Nursing Home, at the age of 85 years. Ellen was born on August 19, 1920 in Montreal where she married Joe and started her family, moving to Calgary in 1959. Ellen loved her family and cherished the days when all the family had the opportunity to be together. She loved gardening, was a fantastic cook, and was extremely kind and giving. Ellen’s best friend was her late husband Joe and it is a comfort that they can finally be together again. Ellen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sandy and Dave Bullough; her two sons Joe and Lindsay Chadderton; her two granddaughters; Shannon (Ojay Platt) and Sheri (Trevor Paddock) and her grandson Kyle Chadderton. Ellen had a love of life and would want all those who knew her to know that although she has passed on, she will always be with us. Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn’s rain When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Gosbee, the Fanning Center and George Boyack Care Center for their loving care and dedication. The support, thoughtfulness and kindness during Ellen’s last days at George Boyack went far beyond the call of duty. Private graveside prayers will be held for the immediate family with interment in the Holy Family Catholic section at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
