Obituary of Sharron Lee Lackner

Sharron Lee Lackner (Harper), beloved wife of Conrad and mother of Eden, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the age of 62 years. Sharron was born on August 24, 1943 in Campbellton, NB. She began her career in Toronto, ON with IBM, where she met Conrad. They moved to Calgary in the fall of 1978, made their home, and raised their family. In 1983, Sharron returned to her education, obtaining her Ph.D. in Sociology in 1997 from The University of Calgary. She was very proud of her community and volunteered with The Canadian Cancer Society and The Canadian Diabetes Association. Sharron loved crafts and reading, and continued throughout her life to passionately further both her own education and that of others. She enjoyed travelling and going to the movies with her family. Sharron loved the outdoors and was very supportive of wildlife foundations. Besides her loving husband and daughter, Sharron is survived by her parents Audrey and Don Harper of Nanaimo, BC; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Gayle and Barry Keay of Oshawa, ON and Dawn and Glen Pridham of Crofton, BC; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
