Obituary of Jason Claude Lapierre

Jason Claude Lapierre of Calgary passed away tragically on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the age of 34 years. Jason was born September 20, 1971 in Cornwall, ON. He graduated from CCVS and obtained his Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, ON. Jason was an Elite Coach with the Canadian Alpine Ski Federation where he contributed to the development of future Olympians, specifically John Kucera. As a Canadian duathlon champion and Ironman Canada competitor, Jason raised the bar for athletic performance and set the highest level of standards within the athletic community. Jason was a powerful mentor to many across Canada. His legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts of the individuals who had the privilege to share his presence and energy. Jason was the Program Director of the Calgary Alpine Racing Club and a member of the RedBirds Ski Club in Mt. Tremblant, QC. Jason is sadly missed by his parents, Judy Hart and her partner Graham Beattie and Claude Lapierre and his wife June; his sister and brother-in-law, Josie and Marc Bellemare; as well as his stepbrother, Dolan Wargo and his wife Jo-Ann and nephew Kale Wargo. He is also survived by his grandparents, Clifford and Evelyn Hart; his grandmother Jeannine Lapierre; his beloved friend Annabelle DeGuzman, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jason was predeceased by his grandfather, Florian Lapierre.
