Obituary of Jerrold Calf Child

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jerrold Calf Child often called Jerry by his friends and family. At the time of his death, Jerry resided in the Siksika Nation and was 40 years old.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter Jerrie Lynn (David); sons Taylor and Desmond; one grandson Johia Lee; sisters Audrey Ann Calf Child (Cheryl), Karen Calf Child (Isaias); brother Clifton McMahon; adoptive parents, the Smethurst Family; special adoptive Mother Betty Reiter; and Grandmother Florence Calf Child. He will also be remembered by Aunts Judy (Daryl) Royal, Lorraine, June, and Korrine Calf Child; Uncles Kevin, Darcie, Clifford, and Donald Calf Child; great Uncle Pius Three Suns; Special Aunts and Uncles Gordon (Christine) Big Snake, Rosalyn (Robert )Breaker, Alice Big Snake, Rosa Doore, Ruby Doore, Joseph (Claudia) Patrick, Evelyn (Pete) Cayenne, Patricia Drunken Chief, Theresa (Wallace) Bear Chief, Rose Marie (Amos) Poor Eagle, James Big Snake, and Joan Brown Weasel. He will also be remembered by Clan families including Calf Child, Yellow Horse, Three Suns, Big Snake, Doore, Drunken Chief, Running Rabbit, Good Eagle, Rabbit, Weasel Head, Big Throat, St. Goddard, and Big Tobacco. Jerrold was predeceased by his parents Ralph Calf Child and Marie Yellow Horse; his grandparents Earl Calf Child and Ann Mary Big Snake, David and Eunice Yellow Horse; Aunties Audrey Ann Crane (Calf Child), Arlene and Brenda Calf Child, Vicki, Sylvia, and Marjorie Yellow Horse; Uncles Delbert, Gabriel, Percy, and David Yellow Horse Jr., and Norman Calf Child; Special Niece Josie Ann Calf Child; Great Aunts Maggie Drunken Chief and Margaret Three Suns; Great Uncles Albert and Simon Big Snake; Special Uncles and Aunties Kenneth and Bernard Big Snake, Leslie, Freddy and Roy Doore, Emma and Jane Drunken Chief, Dorothy Ann, and Pauline Drunken Chief.

Wake Services will be held at Sister Celine Memorial Parish Hall (Siksika Nation, AB) on Thursday, July 20, 2006, at 6:00 p.m, at Sister Celine Parish Hall, Cluny AB. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Cluny, AB) on Friday, July 21 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ian GagnÚ, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Crowfoot Cemetery.
