Obituary of George Maurice Hughes

George Maurice Hughes passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Rosedale Hospice in Calgary on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the age of 55 years. George was born March 11, 1951 in Edmonton, AB and was raised and attended school in Brooks, AB. He came to Calgary in 1989 and has resided here until his passing. He worked in the oil patch all his life and in his time off George loved to garden. George will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Debbie and Cory; his mother Goldie who resides in Brooks; one brother, Michael of Thompson, MB; two sisters, Joanne and Debbie, both of Red Deer as well as numerous friends and relatives. A Celebration of Georges’ Life will be held at the Edgemont Community Centre (33 Edgevalley Circle N.W.) on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dawn Nelson, Presider.
