Obituary of George John Imler

George Imler passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at the age of 89 years. George was born and raised on a farm in Delia, AB. He worked on the family farm until enlisting with the army during WWII. He was stationed in Europe until the end of the war. After the war he met his wife Theresa and they lived in Calgary until 1974. They then lived in Kelowna, BC for several years, enjoying the longer golf and gardening season. Moving back to Alberta to Airdrie, George enjoyed the company of his family and many good friends. He was a man of honour and steadfastness yet always managed to stay young at heart. He will be missed by his family and friends. George is survived by his children and their spouses, Maureen and Don Morey, Daryl and Arlene, Barry (Gail Viner) and Sandy and Tim Martens; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Alvina Hawthorne and Florence Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his wife Theresa and brother Harold.
