Obituary of Gary Frank Weimann

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden unexpected passing of Gary Frank Weimann, on July 9, 2006 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, at the age of 47 years. Gary was raised in Montreal, Quebec and completed a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering at McGill University in 1982, and a MBA at the U of C in 1995. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend, who always placed his family and others before himself. Gary was highly respected by his co-workers and his community and was actively involved in his son’s schools and their extra curricular activities. He volunteered extensively with his son’s swimming, hockey, lacrosse and soccer teams. The Stanley Jones School Naturalization Project recently dedicated a tree in recognition of Gary’s commitment to volunteerism. He not only gave generously of his time but also donated financially to the numerous charities and organizations he believed in. Gary loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, biking, skiing, golfing, swimming, rowing and ran in the Victoria Marathon in 1985. At the time of his passing, he was employed with Hunt Oil as their Sr. Exploitation Engineer. Gary was a pillar of strength to his family and community. His family, friends and colleagues will sorely miss him. Gary is survived by his loving wife Nancy; sons Shawn and Matthew; mother Elizabeth; brother Glenn; mother-in-law Jean, and sister-in-law Geraldine.
