Obituary of Donald Alexander McLeod

Don McLeod beloved husband of Marjorie P. McLeod of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2006. Born in Calgary, Don was educated in Calgary and Edmonton. Upon graduation he worked for B.A. Oil until WWII when he joined the R.C.A.F. as a pilot. During the war Don instructed pilots on the Harvard Trainer then flew Canso patrol bombers off both the west and east coast of Canada. After the war he resumed working for B.A. Oil until the new Alberta Gas Truck Line was formed. Don was hired as their Personnel Manager and held that position until 1975 when he retired. In his retirement he enjoyed golfing, gardening, and visiting his children. He was an avid Calgary Stampeder’s fan. Besides his loving wife Marjorie, Don is survived by his younger son John of Calgary; his older son Donald and his wife Patricia, their sons Donald III and Paul and his great granddaughter Raina, all of Winnipeg, MB. He will be sadly missed by them all. Don regarded everyone as someone special. He was well loved and respected. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 2:30 p.m.
