Obituary of Stephen Szala

Stephen Szala passed away peacefully after a brave and courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday July 5, 2006, at the age of 73 years. Stephen was born on the family homestead in Tway, Saskatchewan. He moved to Calgary in the 1950’s where he lived the remainder of his life. Stephen was a self employed truck driver who drove for various companies, ending his almost fifty year career with Canada Safeway. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindie and Doug Durnie, Judy Szala and Ed MacKay; and two grandsons, Daniel and Peter. He is also survived by four sisters, Emma Moniuk, Maggie (Don) Campbell, Irene Murdock and Margaret Semeniuk; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James’ Catholic Church (5504 – 20th Street S.W.), on Tuesday July 11, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev Jack Hunthausen, Presider.
