Obituary of Gladys Mary Shred

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Mary Shred on Sunday, July 2, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Gladys was born in Southampton, England and moved to Canada as a young war bride in 1946. Initially making her home in Winnipeg, MB, she moved with her family to Calgary in 1964 and lived for many years in Varsity Acres. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and was a great cook. A willing helper, she volunteered for the Calgary Olympics and Meals on Wheels. Gladys will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jeanne Shaw and Susan (Herb) Martin; granddaughters Claire (Wes) Schneider and Jennifer Martin; sister Irene (Roy) Slater; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Alan, her husband of fifty-eight years; and her parents Arthur and Mary Jeans. Gladys enriched the lives of family and friends and she will be dearly missed by all.
