Obituary of Barbara Edith Andersen

On Saturday, July 1, 2006, a beautiful woman departed this world. Shortly after her passing, a magnificent prairie storm rolled over the Foothills Medical Centre in all its inherent majesty and beauty. We are quite convinced that Barbara was signalling her heavenly arrival with roaring thunder and glorious lightning, not to mention nourishing rain for her beloved garden. Our entire family had gathered from around the world at her bedside after her stroke, including her two brothers, sister and niece from England. We grieved and we laughed, remembering a good, beloved woman and sharing our memories of her long life. While we miss her terribly, we take heart in the knowledge that she has gone where she longed to go – to sit with God, carried to the heavens by her much loved angels. She left this world loved and cherished by a large, proud and grateful family and will not be soon forgotten. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; her children, Linda, Steven, Cathy, Michael and Christopher; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by her son, David in April 2004.
