Obituary of Medicine Traveller

Allan David Medicine Traveller, beloved husband of Virginia of Siksika Nation went home to our heavenly father on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the age of 77 years. Dad was a very quiet and simple man. He was a gentle warrior who never bothered anyone and also a man of few words. Dad had a lot of patience, he always greeted and encouraged us with a big smile. Dad was a humble man, a good friend and a good horseman. In his younger years he worked hard and was very dedicated to his family. He also enjoyed working with horses and cattle. Besides his wife of sixty years Virginia, Allan will be lovingly remembered by his children, Rita, Myrna (Morris), Brenda (Cameron), Letty, Sharon, Donald (Justine), Allan (Jennifer), Gordon (Linda), Gary (Harvina) and Reynold; his traditional adopted children, Ethel and Rosa Medicine Traveller, Monique Water Chief, Ronnie, John and Donna Little Light, Yellow Fly’s, Priscilla Three Sons, Mildred B. Scalplock, Tina Healy, Gwendora Bear Chief, and Fonda Duck Chief. Dad is also survived by his thirty grandchildren and sixty great grandchildren and his first great-great grandchild due in August 2006; his brother Adrian Stimson Sr.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Among the family are the Poor Eagles, White Eagles, Maguire/Big Old Man and Black Rider families. Allan will also be remembered by his lifetime friends Jasper Many Heads and Clifford (Rosalyn) Many Guns; and a dear friend Norbert Bear Chief. Dad was predeceased by his sons, Terrold and Emil; his parents, Rita and Emil Medicine Traveller; his grandsons, Kelly and Jason; his son-in-law Malcolm Sitting Eagle; his sisters, Hazel McMaster, Jane Good Eagle; his brothers, Danny, Raymond and Richard (RB) Medicine Traveller; aunties, Annie Maguire, Josephine White Eagle, Emma and Mary Running Rabbit; and his uncle Jack Medicine Traveller.
