Obituary of Bertha Gwenyth McRoberts
Bertha Gwenyth (Gwen) McRoberts of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Carewest George Boyack on June 20, 2006 at the age of 94 years.
Gwen was born on the homestead near Lashburn, SK on September 5, 1911. She moved to Calgary in 1925 and attended Central High School and Normal school there. She taught at schools in Elnora and Calgary before marrying William (Bill) McRoberts on July 13, 1940 and remained a resident of Calgary until her passing.
Gwen is lovingly remembered and survived by daughter and son-in-law Margot and Theo Thirsk of Kelsey, AB; grandson Russell, his wife Kari and great-grandchildren Sydney and Evan of Chicago, Ill; granddaughters Lorraine of Calgary and Kimberley of Red Deer; brother and sister-in-law Owen and Vaughan Morgan of West Vancouver, BC. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) McRoberts; parents David and Blanche Morgan; brother and sister-in-law David and Betty Morgan.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Karen Holmes Presider.
