Obituary of Stanley Lahoda
Old Soldiers Never Die they just fade away
Stan Lahoda passed away peacefully on June 26th at the Foothills Hospital. Stan will be lovingly remembered and cherished by Elenora his wife of fifty nine years, his five children Marjorie Olafson (Larry) of Acme Alberta; Valerie White (Dan) of Salmon Arm, B.C.; Charlene Walters of Campbell River, B.C.; Duane Lahoda (Joanne) of Strathmore, Alberta and Leandra Figg (Howard) of Calgary. He will also be greatly missed by his nine grandchildren; Lane Olafson, Christie Smith, Jaimie White, Jeff and Andrew White, Ryan Walters, Alexander Worden and Madison and Chelsea Figg. Stan was also able to experience being a great grandfather to Joshua and Tanner Smith of Edmonton. Stan is also survived by his brother George Lahoda (Rosemary) of Calgary, his sister Alice Heiland of Vernon, B.C., his sister-in-law Adeline Lahoda (brother Paul-deceased) and many nieces and nephews.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, June 29, 2006 from 6:30 p.m .to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Highwood Lutheran Church (419 Northmount Drive N.W.) on Friday, June 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers tributes may be sent to the Last Post for Veterans Support at 1130 Canada Place, 9700 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 4C3.
