Obituary of Richard Ostrosser

It is with great sadness that Richard’s family and friends announce his passing suddenly as a result of a brain aneurysm on June 18, 2006. Richard is survived by his father David and mother Jean Ostrosser, Calgary, Alberta; brother Jeff, Calgary, Alberta; sister Jill & husband Tony, children Jack, Charlie, and Spencer of Los Angeles, California; Bev Ostrosser, Leslie Ostrosser and John Thompson, Dwight and Monique Ostrosser and family, Dayton and Cattleya Ostrosser and family, Tom and Helen Sveinson and family, Betty Brown, and Abigail and Tom Merinsky and family. Richard lived in Regina for the past twenty years and was the Director of the Treaty 4 Education Centre. Richard was not only an educator, but a mentor, leader, and a father-figure to many of the First Nation children that he taught. He will be sadly missed by the First Nation community where he was a valued member and was given a traditional First Nation burial ceremony conducted by the elders in Regina on Saturday, June 24, 2006.
