Obituary of Muriel Conolly Broadhurst

Muriel Conolly Broadhurst (nee Watson) of Calgary passed away on Friday, June 23, 2006 at the age of 86 years. Muriel was born on February 10, 1920 in Calgary, AB. A native Calgarian, Muriel married Thomas Broadhurst in May of 1946. She worked at Eaton’s in Calgary for many years. Muriel was very involved in her children’s activities, whether in school or outside interests. She also enjoyed animals and especially birds. Muriel enjoyed her bridge club and was a member for over fifty years. Muriel is survived by two sons Cal W. Broadhurst of Alder Flats, AB and Leigh T. Broadhurst and his wife Dianne of Water Valley, AB; one granddaughter Kari Broadhurst; and one grandson Kelly Broadhurst. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Mitchell of Kelowna, BC as well as her close friends Susan, Judy, and Karel. Muriel was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1969 and her sister Madge in 1994. A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date in Queen’s Park Cemetery .
