Obituary of Donald Stanley Kohut

Donald Stanley (Don) Kohut beloved husband and best friend of Mrs. Connie Kohut of Calgary, passed away peacefully with Connie at his side on Monday, June 19, 2006 at the age of 63 years after a year long struggle with cancer. Don was born on April 2, 1943 in Sault Ste. Marie, ON and received his education there. Don married Connie Zeppa on October 15, 1966 in Sault Ste. Marie. He was employed with Algoma Steel Inc. from 1968 until 1990 when he began employment with Prudential Steel and continued to work there until June 2005. Don enjoyed golfing and his yearly salmon fishing trips to Vancouver Island. He had volunteered for the 1988 Olympics and served on the board of directors at the Family Leisure Centre. Besides his loving wife Connie, Donnie is dearly loved and will be sorely missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Nick Profeta, of Calgary; and his son Steve Kohut, of Calgary. He is also survived by his mother Edna Kohut; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Joyce Kohut; his brother-in-law Dave Zeppa; his three nieces, Heidi Premo, Tamarack and Aspen Zeppa, all of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; and Don’s “little buddies,”Riley and Charlie. Don was predeceased by his father John Kohut; and by Connie’s parents, Walter and Jean Zeppa.
