Obituary of Michael John Wandzura

Michael John Wandzura of Calgary, passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the age of 75 years. Mike was born on his parent’s farm at Prud’homme, SK on November 3, 1930. He moved to Toronto at twenty-five years of age and then to Calgary five years later, where he lived until his death. Mike attended SAIT and received a diploma as a Heavy Duty Mechanic and worked for Alberta processing as an equipment supervisor at the time of his retirement in 1991. He proudly called Calgary his home and pursued many activities around the home and yard and enjoyed many camping trips with his family and friends. Mike was an active member of the Seniors Program at Holy Spirit Catholic Church as well as Wood Creek Seniors. He has many relatives and friends throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, all of whom will dearly miss his great love, generosity and humour. Mike is survived by his son David who resides in Victoria, BC; his caring sister-in-law Celia Falasconi of Calgary; four sisters, Katherine Parchewsky, Mary (John) Kulyk, Helen (Mike) Hryniuk, Joanne (John) Beauchamp all of Saskatoon, SK ; four brothers, John, Anton, Joseph (Ruth) and Walter (Joanne) all of Saskatoon, SK. He was predeceased by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Rita Falasconi in 1999; his parents; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
