Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Holstine

Mary Elizabeth Holstine of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the age of 87 years. Mary was born January 24, 1919 in Calgary and resided here all of her life. She attended school at King Edward and Central High. Mary married Jack Holstine on July 15, 1940 and the birth of their son Bill was the proudest moment of her life. Mary and Jack shared their love for music and gardening. After twenty years Mary retired as homemaker with the Family Service Bureau. She studied art later on in life and received many hours of enjoyment through her talent. Her faith, determination, love of life and sense of humour will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Holstine in November 1978 and her son Bill Holstine in March 1996; five sisters; Leta Letts, Eleanor Harris, Violet Mackie, Gladys Sulz, Mabel Rindal and one brother, Albert Stuart. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Bob Marsh of Fairview Baptist Church officiating.
