Obituary of Merle Leona Holstead
Merle Leona Holstead (nee Terry) of Calgary, passed away suddenly in her home on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at the age of 71 years.
All who knew Merle, especially her family, knew her as a caring, loving and giving person who loved life, enjoyed her independence, and was a strong, proud woman. Merle was very private in her personal and family affairs, but would always offer her assistance to anyone that was in need. She will be sorely missed by all the lives that she touched.
Merle is survived by a daughter and three sons: daughter Dorthy and Allen of Calgary, son Steven and Louise of Edmonton, son David of Calgary, son Bruce and Billie-Joe, also of Calgary. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gerald, James, Christopher and Faith, all of Calgary, Sorell of Fort Saskatchewan, and Carrie of Edmonton; and great-grandchildren, Hannah and Isaac of Fort Saskatchewan. Merle will be remembered by her sister, Donna; and numerous nieces and nephews in Toronto. Merle was predeceased by her husband, Keith, in 1994; and son, Gerald in 1959.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
