Obituary of Arlie Grace Pushie
Arlie Grace Pushie (nee McCurdy), beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at the Extendicare Cedars Villa on Friday, June 9, 2006 at the age of 79 years.
Arlie was born in Swift Current, SK on January 8, 1927 to Andrew and Clara McCurdy. She married Glenn Pushie on September 28, 1948 in Medicine Hat, and moved to Calgary in 1951. Following her retirement from CIBC, she and Glenn enjoyed many years of curling and golf. They celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary shortly before Glenn’s passing in 2003. Her grandchildren will fondly treasure Gram’s hand knit creations.
Arlie is survived by her son Drew of Calgary, his wife Aline and three daughters, Renee, Danielle and Erinn; and daughter Patricia of Leduc, her husband Harold Jones and children, son Brent and daughter Monica. She is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Vicky Jorgenson of Coquitlam, B.C., and Yvonne and Ron Edwards of Kimberley, B.C., and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Glenn E. Pushie, Arlie was predeceased by her sister, Ione Kay.
A Private Graveside Service will be held in Rossland, B.C. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Extendicare Cedars Villa for their years of care and friendship.
