Obituary of Francis Kuran

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at the age of 75 years. Frank was born in Coleman, Alberta on December 14,1930, to Joseph and Louise Kuran and moved to Calgary in 1947 where he owned and operated his own construction company. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, lover of animals (especially his cherished dog, George) and the outdoors. Frank was also known to be an extraordinary cribbage player. Of great importance to Frank was his devout faith and the family of friends that accompanied him to church, fondly entitled -“the early morning shift”. Upon retirement in 1989, Frank and Anne relocated to Winfield, B.C. where they spent many fun filled years until returning to Calgary in March of 2006. Frank will be lovingly remembered by all those whose lives he touched. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Anne; his children, Greg (Debbi) Kuran, Anne (Don) Johnston, Cindy (Kim) White; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Johnston, Andrew, Beverly, and Elizabeth Kuran, and Douglas White. He also leaves to mourn, his sister, Irene Hauck; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 – 34th Street S.W.) on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 – 34th Street S.W.) on Monday, June 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev.
