Obituary of Hendrika Maria Driessen

Hendrika (Rikie) Maria Driessen (nee Assen) of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the age of 63 years. Rikie was born on April 1, 1943 in Coevorden, Holland, immigrating to Canada in 1956 to settle in Southern Alberta. She later moved to Calgary where she met and married Marius in 1964, before eventually moving to Tiger Lily, AB where they farmed for many years. Rikie was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by many. Rikie is survived by two daughters Ria (Trevor) and Marie, both of Calgary; two sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Stella, of Mitchell, MB and Rene and Tamara, of Millet, AB; as well as six grandchildren, Sydney, Jordan, Isabelle, Emma, Keara and Nolan. She is also survived by four sisters, eight brothers and their families. Rikie was predeceased by her husband Marius; her parents John and Gerhardina; one sister; and two brothers. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church (1100 Berkshire Boulevard N.W.) on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ignatius Thu Tran, Presider.
