Obituary of Joan Cullingham
Joan Cullingham, of Calgary, passed away on Monday June 5, 2006, at the age of 86 years.
Joan was born on December 23, 1919 in London, England. Joan trained to become a primary school teacher at the Froebel Institute in Roehampton, England. She married Keith on October 10, 1942, and they immigrated to Canada in 1952. In Calgary they were active in amateur dramatics and were among the founding members of the Calgary Players. They moved to New York in 1973, where Joan was an active volunteer, and following the death of Keith, she returned to Calgary in June 2000. Joan will be sadly missed by her children, Dairne (John) Boyd, Owen (Val), Miles, and Toby (Sheila) She is also survived by her grandchildren Alison, Siobhan, Michael, Philippa, Nicholas, Christopher, Andrew and Whitney.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday June 8, 2006, at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. R.H. Grant Rodgers of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Presider Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
