Obituary of Donald James Lake

Don Lake of Calgary passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Don was born and raised in Asquith, SK and served with the Lord Strathcona Horse Regiment from 1940 to 1945. He then farmed at Kenaston, SK, from 1947 until 1976 when he moved to Calgary. For several years he did contract work and then joined Shelter Corporation until 1988. At that time he retired and spent time enjoying his home and camping in the mountains until his health deteriorated. Don is survived by his brother Jack (Mary) of Asquith, SK; his sister Dot (Ken) Ullman of Calgary; as well as nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Tom and Kenneth. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
