Obituary of Hazel May McKay

Hazel McKay UE of Calgary died peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at the age of 104 years, after a brief illness. She was born Hazel Wagar on February 20, 1902 in Parham, Ontario, of United Empire Loyalist stock. Hazel is survived by her children, Jack Smith of Salmon Arm, BC, Betty MacKenzie of Cobourg, ON, and Shirley Cooke of Calgary. Her nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren knew her as Nanny Mac. She was predeceased by both her husbands, Ralph Smith and Carl McKay and her grandson Bruce Cooke. She is lovingly remembered by family, friends, and fellow residents and staff at Eau Claire Retirement Residence. Funeral Services will be held at St. Laurence Anglican Church (5940 Lakeview Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
