Obituary of John Guza

John Clement Guza of Calgary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the age of 74 years. John was born on June 15, 1931 in Hillcrest, AB. The family moved to Burlington, ON. After receiving his Chartered Accountancy degree, he married and moved to Calgary. John was an Audit partner in the firm of Deloitte and Touche and retired in 1992 due to illness. He was proud of his Slovak heritage and wrote two books on Slovak culture and history. John also wrote a genealogy of his family and was proud of his work. He enjoyed going to the mountains fly-fishing with his family and friends especially his children. John also enjoyed gardening and was proud of his flowers. On many occasions John traveled to Europe especially Slovakia to visit with family and friends. John leaves to mourn his wife Helene; two daughters Michele (John), and Susan; his son Stephen; and his grandchildren Catherine and Natalie. He is also survived by his brother Ron (Christine); and niece Jennifer. John was predeceased by his parents Catherine and Clement Guza. At John’s request there will be no Funeral Services.
