Obituary of John Hudak
John Hudak, beloved husband of Evelyn of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 27, 2006 after a courageous four-year battle with cancer at the age of 68.
John was born on March 13, 1938 in Medicine Hat to Susan and Andrew Hudak. He grew up in Redcliff and built his first home there in 1963. He was employed with Dominion Glass for 23 years. While with Dominion Glass, he held various positions including draftsman, maintenance superintendent and production manager. John and Evelyn relocated to Calgary with their children in 1979 when John accepted a position with Revelstoke Concrete. He enjoyed 22 years of employment with Revelstoke/Inland Concrete and retired from his position of Vice President/General Manager in 2001. John was a master craftsman and enjoyed creating many wonderful projects for family and friends. No project was too big or too small for him to tackle. John also enjoyed fishing and boating at their cottage at Burnstick Lake.
John had great faith, which sustained him throughout his life and especially during his last month. John was very proud of his children and their spouses. John will be lovingly remembered by Michelle and John Scott of Toronto; Bonnie and Phil Stevenson, Mark and Ramona Hudak, Nancy Hudak and George Kesteven all of Calgary. John loved and cherished being “Papa” to Nicole, Jared, Christopher, Lucia, Blake, Abagael, Isabella and Paige. He will also be missed by sister Mary Zacaruk of Calgary; sister-in-law Marg Hudak and Don Mack of Medicine Hat; brothers -in- laws, Gordon and Shirley Jangula of Redcliff, AB, Vic and Fran Jangula of Medicine Hat as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his mother Susan in 1974, his father Andrew in 1984, his only brother Andy in 1995, his mother and father-in-law Anne in 2002 and Joe Jangula in 1990 and his brother-in-law Tony Zacaruk on May 25, 2006.
