Obituary of Stella Edwards

Our family announces the passing of Stella Edwards on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the age of 90 years. Stella was a gentle and good-humoured person who worked hard all of her life and helped everyone. Stella and Ollie farmed for some years east of Calgary and near Langdon. They moved to Calgary in the 1950’s where she resided ever since. Stella and Jack loved pin bowling and lawn bowling in her retirement years. Stella is survived by her sister Nanna (Charles) Toogood; and by many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her first husband Olaf (Ollie) Nasen and her second husband John (Jack ) Edwards; her parents Marius and Anna Iversen; her brothers Lester, Axel, Raymond and Art; sisters Nora Iverson and Olga Hall; and by virtually all of the many friends she made over her long life. For most of the last five years, she comfortably and enjoyably resided at the Scenic Acres Retirement Residence and we are grateful for the care, attention, and companionship she received. We also appreciate and thank the staff at Brentwood Care Centre where she spent her last four months. We cannot thank enough, the people who cared for our Stella in the last stages of her life. For our family, her leaving is like the passing of an age for in her youth she helped to pioneer the West. Stella will be missed but lovingly remembered for her smile and her laughter in times good and for her support in times not so good. At Stella’s request there will be no Funeral Services.
