Obituary of Charles Linwood Lloyd Johnston

It is with very deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lin Johnston on May 26, 2006, surrounded by his family. He was an outstanding husband, father and grandfather. Born in Sherbrooke, QC, and raised in Windsor, ON, he was educated at McGill University where he received his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree in 1956. Lin was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was with Canada Cement Lafarge for 26 years, then Federal White Cement and then had his own consulting firm Linwood Johnston and Associates. Lin was a member of the Rotary Club of Calgary and very active as producer of the Rotary Show and on the Barbeque Committee, which he very much enjoyed. Lin also had many good times and great memories with his golfing buddies, fellow bridge players and the Whiff & Snort Group. Many thanks to all for their support and kind wishes. Besides his loving wife of forty-two years, Eileen; he is also survived by his children, daughter and son-in-law Katherine Johnston and Torbjorn Album of Oslo, Norway, sons and daughter-in-law Lloyd Johnston and Melissa Hart of Boston MA, and Charles ‘Chuck’ Johnston of Calgary; his cherished grandchildren, Christopher Lloyd Johnston Album and Jake Hart Johnston. He is also survived by his sister Frances Heppolette of Toronto and nephews David and John. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church Elbow Park (3602 – 8th Street S.W.) on Tuesday May 30, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. M. Ansley Tucker, Presider.
