Three Suns

Obituary of Three Suns

Edward Maxwell Three Suns of Siksika Nation, passed away at the Blackfoot Crossing. He has gone home to be with our Creator on Friday, May 19, 2006 at the age of 43 years. Eddie was privileged to be raised by his grandmother, Mary Three Suns, who instilled traditional Siksika cultural values, as well as the Catholic faith in him. He was known as a true cowboy; his passions were for riding horses and living by maintaining the Three Suns Ranch. He was a prime example for his family; demonstrating his ability by working hard and showing compassion to others. Eddie was employed with the Siksika Nation Tribal Administration in various areas. He mentioned his appreciation for the opportunity and enjoyed working with his co-workers. He loved children, especially his nephews and nieces. Eddie took pride in taking care of himself and showed respect to all who knew him. When he visited his family or friends, he showed his generosity by offering to wash dishes as a gesture of appreciation. Eddie will be remembered for his gentle and kind character, and also leaves a legacy of being a strong spirited and faithful cowboy. As we all know Eddie’s passion was his love for horses and the ranch life. He was last seen riding home, little did we know, this was his last ride. We have comfort now knowing that Eddie’s last ride was to his heavenly home; where he rides on to meet his Grandmothers – and is welcomed by his Creator. Eddie is the descendant of Chief Old Sun; Three Suns and Heavy Shield; grandmothers, Mary Jane Three Suns, Beatrice Poor Eagle, Margaret Bad Boy (Three Suns), Mary, Ada, Black Water, Amy Smith; special auntie, uncle, Pius Three Suns, and Julia Wright. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Emily Three Suns and Clarence Red Crow; special companion Freda Wolf Child; brothers and sisters, Lendell Crow Child, Allison (Jayme), Clarence (Rita), Shawn, Henry (Carolla), Rosella (Classy), James, Max (Lori), Barbara, Noreen, Calvin, Franklin, Ernestine, Marie, Flora, Patricia and special sister Joanne Three Suns. He is also remembered by his nephews and nieces, Darrin, Kennedy, Jodi, Kerri, Brett, Lewis, Bradley, Racey, Utay, Randi, Tamsyn, Delaney, Stran, O’Shea and Cashius; clans, Good Eagles, Many Bears, Crow Chiefs, Poor Eagles, Big Snakes, Drunken Chiefs, Stimsons, Bull Bears, Scalp Locks, Running Rabbits, and Bear Chiefs.
