Obituary of Margaret Morison

Margaret Morison passed away peacefully on May 11, 2006 at her home in Airdrie at the age of 89 years. Margaret was born on January 18, 1917, the eldest of three children and raised on the Bussey family farm east of Airdrie. She attended Glen Leven School and finished her high School in Calgary and later attended Calgary Normal School where she obtained her teaching certificate. Her first teaching post was at Adams Lake School at Hussar. She later came to teach at Big Springs School west of Airdrie in September 1938. Margaret met Glen Morison and they married in 1939. She lived on the farm for sixty-four years until 2003 when she moved to Fletcher Village in Airdrie where she made many friends and acquaintances. Margaret was devoted to her family, her loving God and her friends. Margaret will be remembered and dearly missed by her son Stuart Morison, twin daughters, Carol (Earle) Whittaker and Christie Morison; brother James (Jessie) Bussey; sisters Wilda Pugh and Judy Bussey. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kim (Bill )Rose of Minneapolis, Ann (Samir) Chehade, Dean Morison, Tara Whittaker, Colin (Terri) Whittaker in the Philippines and seven great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Glen Morison; parents Louis and Lena Bussey and sister-in-law Muriel Morison. A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Community Baptist Church ( 2104 Big Hill Springs Road, Airdrie) on Monday, May 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Margaret’s family would like to express their appreciation to Homecare and We Care helpers.
