Obituary of Robert Hunt
Robert (Bob) Hunt beloved husband of Olive of Calgary, passed away on May 12, 2006 at the age of 76 years.
Bob was born on November 2, 1929 in Calgary. Following his education, Bob played hockey in Detroit and Calgary before joining Amerada Minerals in 1948 as the first Canadian employee. Olive and Bob were married in 1949 and began a wonderful life together. Bob worked in the oil and gas industry for thirty-nine years before retiring in 1986. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved camping and fishing with his family in the early years. Bob also enjoyed golfing with his buddies at Inglewood in Calgary and at the Radium Springs Golf Course. In his retirement he helped his wife Olive in her real-estate business and was the consummate handyman for family and friends. Bob loved his wife and boys and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow. The highlight of Bob’s life came on May 2, 2006, with the birth of his first great grandchild Paige Olivia Hunt in Langley, BC. He is survived by Olive, his loving wife of 57 years; Sons, Rob Hunt and daughter-in-law Judy of Calgary, and David Hunt and his wife Peggy of Roberts Creek, BC; grandchildren R. J. Hunt of Calgary and attending University of Victoria, BC, Dr.David (Brenda) Hunt of Langley, BC, Laura (Arturo) Guardia-Penfold of Carlos Paz, Argentina; one great grandchild; nephews Ron, Dan and Jim. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ruby Hunt and brother Ed Hunt.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, March 14,2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, May 15, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Herman Aaftink, Presider.
