Obituary of Coral Yvonne MacDonald

Coral Yvonne MacDonald (nee Sahara) of Okotoks, passed away peacefully at home on the farm on Monday, May 8, 2006. In 1946, Coral graduated from the Holy Cross School of Nursing in Calgary. She had a natural ability to help and care for others; donating much of her time within the health care industry by aiding in the setting up of the Lady’s Hospital Auxiliaries throughout Alberta. In recognition of her contributions, she received the silver and gold Queen Jubilee medals. Coral always held an interest in political issues and remained politically active throughout her life. Coral is survived by her four children and their spouses; one daughter-in-law; and one sister-in-law; fifteen grandchildren; and certain special friends. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. W.J. MacDonald; her parents; and her brother. She will be fondly remembered by her family, colleagues and numerous friends as a very special and unique woman who touched the lives of many.
