Obituary of Reta Joyce Dahlberg

Reta Joyce Dahlberg, beloved wife of Gil, peacefully and gently went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2006 surrounded by her husband and daughters. Reta is survived by her husband and best friend Gil; her two daughters and sons-in-law Sandra Lynn and Glenn Ball and Lesley Ann and Trevor Rysavy; her greatly loved granddaughters Jamie, Dinah and Georgia; and her sister Jean Sweet of Red Deer, AB. She was predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Audrey Sweet. Reta was born in Lacombe, AB on November 15, 1942 to loving Christian parents from whom she inherited the infectious gift of humour and her gift of music (piano) from age four. She was educated in Lacombe, later moving to Red Deer to work at the Treasury Branch where she met her husband Gil. Reta and Gil were married on August 31, 1963 moving to Calgary in 1969 and were blessed with two daughters, Sandra and Lesley. Reta and Gil were long-time members of the Alliance Church where Reta was involved with Pioneer Girls and many church activities. She worked for Simon Fraser Junior High School and more recently was the Wedding Coordinator at Foothills Alliance Church. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was mothering her two daughters, seeing them marry wonderful and loving husbands, and giving her three beautiful grandbaby girls. Reta had a God given gift for making people laugh and filling a room with joy and laughter. A Celebration of Reta’s Life will be held at Foothills Alliance Church (333 Edgepark Blvd. N.W.) on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
