Obituary of Norma Marie Avery

Caring, kind and humorous describes Norma Avery of Calgary, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2006, with her family and friends by her side after her courageous battle with cancer. Norma was born in Swalwell Alberta on January 1, 1948, a New Year’s baby. She attended schooling in Beiseker, AB, and after graduation she moved to Calgary where has since resided. Norma married Cecil Avery in 1973. She enjoyed entertaining, her time at her summer home at Lake Windemere, but most of all, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. Norma is survived by her husband and best friend Cec; her daughter Kim; her four sisters and three brothers-in-law; Carol and Bob Greenhill of Peace River; Verna Hoff of Carbon; Joyce and Dave Sharp and Marie and John Debleyser, all of Calgary; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ed and Deb Hagel; and Arnold and Sharon Hagel all of Airdrie; Neil Hagel and Irene Teruya; and Vince Hagel all of Calgary. She will also be sadly missed by over fifty nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; aunts and uncles; and many, many close friends. Norma was predeceased by her parents Edward and Julia Hagel and brother-in-law Wayne Hoff. Norma was very excited to watch her daughter Kim be involved with the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, coming up on May 26, 2006.
