Obituary of Helen Jean Horback

Helen Horback passed away on May 7, 2006 at the age of 73 years. She was born in Sheo, Saskatchewan. Helen met Romaine in Yorkton, SK, and he became her husband and best friend. They were married in 1952 and settled in Calgary in 1956, where they raised their family. Helen was artistically and musically gifted. She painted elaborate Ukrainian eggs and played many musical instruments by ear. She was a woman of strong faith, who lived in accordance with her beliefs. Family and friends will lovingly remember Helen as being a woman of exceptional compassion, generosity and good humour. She was a grandma who never tired of playing with her grandchildren and she had a significant impact on their lives. Helen was always loving and patient. She was a person who had a tender heart and used it to nurture those around her. Helen will be greatly missed by her husband Romaine; dear son Ron and his wife Denise; grandchildren Christopher and Jenna; brothers Wally and his wife Olga Diachina, Thor and Diana Diachina; and Romaine’s cousin Wally and his wife Leona Dumka.
