Obituary of Gudbjorg Eugenia Arnason

Jean Arnason of Calgary, passed away at the Beverly Care Centre (Midnapore), on April 28, 2006, at the age of 95 years. Jean taught in rural Saskatchewan and Regina before moving to Calgary in 1953, where she worked for the Calgary Board of Education as a classroom teacher and teacher librarian. She was one of the founding members of the Leif Erikson Icelandic Club, and received a lifetime membership award in recognition for her contribution to the club. Jean will be dearly remembered by her sister-in-law June Arnason of Calgary; brother Albert of Edmonton; nephews Morley (Sandra) of Toronto, and Arne (Sandy) of Stoney Plain; nieces Marion Arnason of Edmonton, Elaine Rutherford of Toronto and Helen Fertuk (Len) of Toronto; as well as her friends in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Jean was predeceased by her father John; mother Sarah; and her brothers Barney and Edward.
