Obituary of Tip Hlushak
Tip Hlushak passed away peacefully at the age of 71 years at his home in Airdrie, AB on April 28, 2006 after a long struggle with lung cancer.
Tip met Betty Anne Storm in Uranium City, SK in 1954 where he worked for Eldorado Mining and Refining. They married and started their family in this northern boom town and fifteen years later moved to Ft. McMurray, AB. Tip owned and operated McMurray Hardware for nearly twenty-five years before moving to British Columbia to retire. His great zest for life and uncommon sense of humour will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew him.
Tip’s memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife Betty Anne; daughter Anna Marie Mywaart and husband John of Ft. McMurray; son Victor and wife Debbie of Calgary as well as his beloved grandsons Justin and Jordache of Ft. McMurray and Sean and Jayme of Calgary. Tip is also survived by his sister, Virginia Ursulak of Kelowna; brothers Russ and wife Anne of Kelowna, Peter and wife Emmeline of Edmonton and sister-in-law Gladys Hlushak of Okanagan Falls, BC. He was predeceased by his mother and father Eva and Peter Hlushak; brothers Art and Clarence and brother-in-law Michael.
A Memorial Service will be held at Bethel Christian Reformed Church (14204 – 25 Street), Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Internment to take place at the Fort McMurray Abasand Cemetery on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
