Robert George Hinton Sr. of Calgary passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2006 at the age of 80 years.
Bob was born on August 15, 1925 in Birmingham, England and immigrated to Trail, BC with his family in 1926. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. Bob and his wife Roseanne moved to Calgary in 1964 to begin their own business. It was here that they spent many happy years with family and friends. Bob was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Centennial Branch #285 for many years, volunteering for the Annual Poppy Drive, Veterans’ luncheons, and the Legion Lottery. He was also active in his community playing Santa, dog-sitting, and helping where he could with all the neighbours. Everyone enjoyed Bob and Pepper on their daily walks. Bob spent many hours enjoying his grandchildren’s activities and hanging out at many baseball diamonds. He shared his joy of life, sense of humour, generosity, and his genuine compassion with all. He will be greatly missed by all those he touched.
