Obituary of John Robert Pottie

John Robert Pottie passed away peacefully at Agape Hospice on Friday, March 24, 2006 at the age of 86 years. John Robert was born December 18, 1919 in Halifax, NS. He married Cora Dwyer in February 1946 and they lived most of their life in Halifax until relocating to Calgary in 1987. He was passionate about his family, enjoyed fishing, dancing, billiards and painting and will be remembered for his kind, gentle, and quiet nature. John Robert will be lovingly remembered by his only daughter and son-in-law Wendy and Frank Vorstermans both of Calgary; granddaughters Andrea Vorstermans of Calgary and Pamela (Darby) Agar of Saskatoon, SK; brothers Vince of Dartmouth, NS and Gordon (Odette), of Chateauguay, QC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews across Canada. He was predeceased by his best friend and beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Cora Pottie in May of 2003, as well as five of his brothers.
