Obituary of William Mahon Slipp
William (Bill) Mahon Slipp of Calgary passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2006 in his 80th year.
Bill was born and raised in Trochu, AB. After serving in the Navy from 1944 – 1946 he spent his career with the Bank of Montreal living in many communities across Alberta. Bill was a kind and gentle man loved by all, who enjoyed a cold beer, spending time with his family and putttering in his garden.
Bill is survived by his children, Jim (Marlene) of Red Deer, Marg (Claude) Baril of Didsbury, Trish (Jim) Collins, Len, John (Carolyn), and Richard, all of Calgary; his ten grandchildren; and his sister Margaret Payne of Fort Erie, ON. He is also fondly remembered by numerous extended family in Canada, the USA and Ireland. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife Pauline in 1990, daughter-in-law Aisling Wall in 2003, by his siblings, John and Len; and Katherine.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, March 27, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev.
