Alice lived in Saskatchewan most of her life enjoying many years in the hotel and real estate businesses. Her real estate career began in 1959 and was spent with Trotter & Company, Campbell & Haliburton, Universal Realty Ltd. and Royal Trust; all located in Saskatoon. Following her retirement in 1977, Alice and Don spent many enjoyable days on the roads of Western Canada in their motor home and were active members of the Wandering Wheels Motor Home Club. Many summers were spent playing ‘Uno’ and fishing at the lake with her grandkids. Also in retirement, she was a founding member of the Saskatoon Seniors Cultural & Creative Studies Inc. with the University of Saskatchewan. In 1993, Alice moved to Calgary to be closer to her family and spent the last seven years of her life at the Royal Park Retirement Residence. She was a survivor of multiple bouts of cancer and was an example of strength and spirit in dealing with each episode of her illness. She will be remembered for her wit, many friends, knowledge and interests. Her family will also humorously remember her unwavering loyalty to Readers Digest.
Alice is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws Rod and Mary of Sherwood Park, AB, and Dan and Kathy of Vancouver, B.C.; daughter Donna (Michael Okrusko) of Calgary; and grandchildren, Cheryl (Grant), Jason (Jennifer), David and Jennifer.
